The joist hanger is designed for joist-to-header installation in wood-framed constructions like roofs, decking, floors, and ceilings. Joist hangers are much stronger than using nails or screws alone. They are also easier to fit and relatively cheap given the length of time they will last.
The joist hanger has speed prongs to temporarily position and secure the connector for easier and faster installation.
